what anti-virus should we have?

I work for a small business company. My boss has different brands of anti-viruses on the computers. Now they are all home versions. Should we be using home or small business anti-virus? The computers are used like a home computer. We do have company files on a network, but those are kept on an external hard drive.

why would you want to change? If they are being used like home computers then I see no need for any corporate type of antivirus. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" as the saying goes.

If these AV products are paid versions....I don't see a problem.

If these AV products are free versions....you might be saying your boss is a crook.

I thought a small business computer had to have small business anti-virus software. I think i read it in the fine print of the regular software. We have paid versions of anti-virus software. I don't like the brands. Some have 1 has x other 3 have y brand and five has none yet new computer in office.

fine print. You need to read that and also the features on each one and decide for yourself which would suit the business the best. Every business is different and has different needs. If you have all paid versions, I doubt that you are breaking any of their rules using them in a business. Most of the free ones have fine print and you should not use them for a business though.

"I don't like the brands".......tough.

When you become the BOSS you can change that.

If your BOSS wants to buy 10 different AV products to fit on the machines that's his/her business........it's called PERKS.

If your BOSS wants to buy one AV and a license to install it on 10 machines....save a buck...that's his/her business.
