Samsung led tv wireless network

Hello,

I'm trying to connect my samsung 46inch series 7 led tv to my wireless network with the WIS09ABGN apapter.

The tv finds my wireless network but when attempting to connect displays the error message connection failed after imputing my wpa2 key.

I have tried taking the security off my network but the problem still occurs. The router is a netger dg834pn.

Any ideas how to fix this?

jcandsc,

What model TV do you own?

It's a Samsung UE46B7020

jcandsc,

Well, you have the compatible dongle.

Does your network SSID name have a space? "My Network" should be "MyNetwork", for instance.

Keep me posted.

The network appears on the TV and I can select it, after that it comes up to enter the wpa key but then just doesn't connect.

It does the same thing when I take the security off my network although obviously it doesn't ask me for the wpa key.

My network SSID doesn't have a space its just one word.

I have added the mac address of the dongle to my router, and I have also tried disabling mac address filtering altogether but it still has the same problem.

I have also moved the router into the same room as the tv to make sure it had a good signal but the problem still occurs.

Any other ideas?

jcandsc,

It could be that a firewall (router or software) may be recognizing the television as attempting to connect to the network. Have you tried disabling it or configuring it to allow access?

It's likely an ip address conflict between the tv and the router. The same thing occurs with wireless printers. If you change the ip address on the router to something different than the default, for instance increasing the last digit from 1 to 7, the conflict should be resolved after restarting everything. Then the tv should be allowed to connect. I'm in the process of reviewing wireless tv's so I have an interest in how you are able to resolve this.

My provider (Telecom Italia) provides me router and wireless name. I cannot change the name of the wireless neither the configuration of the router to add the mac address.

The name of the wifi is "Alice-12345678": is it possible this is problem? Is the name too long and/or the "-" character, as the " " (blank), are problematic?

Thank you in advance.

My SSID does have a space. How do you type spaces with the TV remote?

Force your wireless router and or modem to accept the Samsung Wi-Fi USB device, by adding the USB's MAC ID to your router and or modem. The MAC I.D. remains available via: (1) The Original USB package, (2) On the device itself, and (3) The I.D. reveals itself via the LED TV; go to "menu", "Plug & Play" (arrow right), (arrow down to) "Network Setup" (arrow right), Wireless Network Setup" (arrow down to) "Network Test" (arrow right): Network Test Reveals "MAC Address (XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). Simply add the revealed MAC ID to the router, as an accepted I.D. (I recommend you set your wireless router to only accepts specified MAC ID's; if someone cracks your network key, they'd have to know one of your accepted MAC ID's to further delve!) It's freaking magic!

I have a Linksys Wireless G router. Where do enter the Mac address?

Let me save you about 12 hours of diagnosing the problem. If you are trying to connect your Samsung internet ready TV to an Apple Airport Extreme you will be the ball in a tennis match between Apple and Samsung. Trust me and Return it now. Otherwise you will be on support call after support call with both companies saying it's the other guys fault. In defense of Apple, there techs actually know what they are talking about. Samsung appears to be hiring the lowest possible minimum wage employee and trying to pass them off as technical staff. So I conclude....Return it before you lose your weekend like I did.

This may help someone. I never could get my BlueRay player BD-C6900 online. I extended my network with my Extreme (Time Capsule - primary)and then hooked my player to the Extreme with an ethernet cable. It works like a charm

Ifhe Wifi usb key doesn't work, try using a rint serveradapteror gamingadapter to our ethernet port and return the dongle key. I hsve a UN55B7000 and these two devices works find for me. However, go to your internal router server (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) click on wirelss>MAc fltering and add the ethernet MAC address and the Print Server/or Gaming Adapter MAC address. I've been using thsedevices for over year and they work great! I didn't bother with usb dongle cause whenI bought my TV they weren't in stock.

good luck

Is it true that if I run a HDMI 1.4 w/ethernet cable between my wreless BD-C6900 and my UN40C7000 that my internet connection can be shared with the N40C7000 TV (bi-directional)?

ONCE YOU HAVE ENTERED THE WAP KEY. YOU MAY HAVE TO PUT THE NETWORK BOX (ROUTER) INTO 'PAIRING' MODE, THIS WILL ALLOW TO CONNECTION TO THE NETWORK. (THIS HOW MY BOX WORKS).

GOOD LUCK.

I have the un55c7000 and also struggled in trying to connect my Samsung with the internet. In my case, I had to change my security level on my wireless network to WEP instead of WPA2, It lowered my security strength, but allowed me excess to the internet. Try it. Good Luck
Note: I have Net Gear Dual Band

I have been having the same trouble. I have setup network and it recognises my Wireless network. When I do the network test it gets as far as the Gateway Ping and fails. Saying it cannot find the Gateway.

I have rang Samsung technical help and they have carried out various things and still the same problem.

They have now said that to contact Draytek as it is something to do with the setting on my Router.

Can anybody help - has anybody else had this problem with the Samsung T.V.
