its a pedastal tv. cannot access specifics at this time. Someone suggested lamp going out? It does come and go too.

If it's a DLP, it's probably not the lamp. Without the ability to look the unit, it is difficult to diagnose.

My recommendation would be to contact the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG for further troubleshooting and repair assistance.
